My grandmothers are definitely my heroines! Great Grandma Ina had 14 children and was widowed at a young age. She was the sweetest lady and I have fond memories of the farm as a child with all my great aunts and uncles and their children (second cousins). My grandmother was the oldest daughter and second oldest so my uncle and and great uncle are close in age:) My grandma Carol was also widowed twice and a go getter! We just moved her out of her home last summer at the age of 86. Very strong independent women:). Then there was my grandma Mabel. Stubborn German to the end but strongest hardest working woman I knew. A pat on the back could throw you into the next room and she had a great sense of humor! Also my step grandma Ellen was the the sweetest kindest woman and always treated my brother and I like one of her own:) Loved my grandmas and blessed to still have my grandma Carol!

My students are my superheroes. They never cease to inspire me: their willingness to try new things, to not give up, be active, and cheer each other on. These young ladies do not let anything stand in their way and they are unafraid to explore new things and assert their own interests. I love this and am inspired and ready for their future takeover of the world.

My grandmas are my heroines, one has passed and I am lucky to still have one alive. They both had large families 6 kids each and worked hard for their families. My grandma Dorothy was a stubborn and loving lady! She was always baking something and when we would spend Christmas there the table was full of food, even as an adult when I would visit she would ask are you hungry and tell us to eat! She was just an amazing lady! She lived right down the road from us as kids so we would be over there all the time. She always told me that I was such a smart woman and she knew that I was going far in this world.

My sister are my superheros. One sister raised a physically and mentally challenged son whole her husband was in the service. My other sister took care of her husband until his death from pancreatic cancer, and then 3 years later had to deal with her own colon cancer. They are both very strong and have endless love and compassion. I would name them Dede the Determined and Big Hearted Mary. Love my sisters!
